Client portal
The client portal is a private page for each customer. From one link they can pay invoices, sign quotes, approve extra charges, see what's coming up and what's been done, and report a problem. They don't need a password.
How to give a customer their portal link
- Open the client from the Clients page and find the Customer Portal card.
- Click Create portal link.
- Click Email to customer to send it. You can also click Copy to paste the link into a text or email yourself. Email to customer needs an email address on the client.
- Click Preview to see exactly what your customer sees.
What your customer sees
- Their Balance due, Next visit and number of Completed visits at the top.
- Additional Charges to approve or decline. See Add-ons.
- Property Inspections, if you use Site inspections and have sent them a report. It lists every inspection report you've sent, with its PDF, and any findings waiting on them. When you've priced items and asked for approval, on a punch walk or a monthly report, your client can approve or decline each one right there.
- Invoices, with Pay now on anything unpaid.
- Quotes & Estimates, with Review & sign on anything waiting for them.
- Upcoming Visits and Service History, including completed-visit reports and before and after photos.
- Report an issue, which sends you a message about a visit or anything else.
How to stop a link working
On the client's Customer Portal card, click Revoke link. The old link shows "Portal unavailable". Create a new link whenever you want to give access again.
Good to know
- Each customer has one active link at a time. Clicking Create portal link again doesn't create a second one.
- Anyone with the link can see that customer's portal, so send it only to the customer.
