HVAC maintenance checklist
Print this page or save it as a PDF and take one to every tune-up. It has a cooling section for spring, a heating section for fall, a place for readings, and a findings table the customer signs, so recommended repairs are on paper.
A general checklist. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions, local code and your licensing rules. Refrigerant work needs EPA Section 608 certification.

How to use it
- Write the readings down, not just a tick: next year's visit can compare amp draw, temperature split and capacitor values.
- Put every recommended repair in the findings table and get a Y or N from the customer, so a later failure isn't a surprise to anyone.
- Leave a copy with the customer and keep one with the job.
